Sous Chef

What you will be doing:

  • Support the Executive Chef in leading the daily operations of the kitchens
  • Consistently offer professional, friendly and proactive guest service while supporting fellow colleagues
  • Lead and supervise the quality of the food offered, as well as coordinate the production
  • Actively share ideas, opinions and suggestions in daily shift briefings
  • Maintain proper rotation of product in all chillers to minimize wastage/spoilage and ensure storeroom requisitions are accurate
  • Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of all work areas, utensils, and equipment
  • Follow and enforce all kitchen policies, procedures and service standards
  • Follow and enforce all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage
  • Create unforgettable culinary experiences for our guests

Qualifications



Your experience and skills include:

  • Service focused personality is essential and previous leadership experience required
  • Proven ability to build and maintain good relationships with all stakeholders
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
  • Strong interpersonal and problem solving skills
  • Communicate thoughts, actions and opportunities clearly with strong networking skills
  • Ability to lead by example, believe in a strong team culture and set the scene for high performance
  • Previous experience with a Union environment is an asset
  • EcoSure Managers Certification and City of Chicago Managers Certification

, salary range $70,000 - $85,000
